BlueCross BlueShield and Anthem Coverage Through The Lactation Network
It’s More Than Milk is excited to partner with The Lactation Network (TLN) to provide in-network lactation care for many families with eligible BlueCross BlueShield of Texas (BCBSTX) PPO plans and BlueChoice plans including FEP, and Anthem plans. Our three IBCLCs have completed the credentialing process and are able to see parents with many BCBSTX and out of state BCBS plans.
If your insurance plan qualifies, you may receive comprehensive lactation consultations with little to no out-of-pocket cost. This can include prenatal breastfeeding consultations, in-home or office visits after your baby arrives, virtual sessions, pumping support, return-to-work planning, and ongoing lactation care based on your individual needs.
Getting started is simple:
Complete TLN’s insurance verification form with your insurance info.
Once your coverage is confirmed, we’ll help you schedule your appointment and answer any questions about your benefits.
A few things to note:
If you have a BCBS HMO plan:
Your insurance requires a referral from your primary care provider (PCP) before your visits can be covered. When requesting a referral from your PCP:
Referral turnaround times can vary, so please allow time for your PCP and insurance company to process the request.
Once your PCP confirms the referral has been submitted, feel free to let TLN know so we can monitor your insurance portal for updates.
Keep in mind, the referral process can take up to 15 days.
Please note that not every BCBS or Anthem plan is eligible through TLN. Coverage depends on your specific employer-sponsored or individual insurance plan, and eligibility is determined by The Lactation Network.
A $125 travel fee applies to each home visit (initial visits and all follow up in-home visits) through The Lactation Network.
If your BCBS or Anthem plan is not covered through TLN, we are happy to discuss our self-pay options and provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Our goal is to make accessing exceptional, evidence-based lactation care as seamless as possible, so you can spend less time navigating insurance and more time caring for your family.
