Health Guidelines and Protocols

Last updated August 2025

It’s More Than Milk has implemented the following precautions in order to keep staff, students, families, and babies safe from illness:

  • Masks are optional for families. Your IBCLC and student can wear one upon request.

  • Sunayana, Jessica, Amie, and their students are fully vaccinated with 2 initial and 4 booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. They are current on all other recommended vaccinations, including the annual flu shot and the pertussis vaccine (TDaP).

  • Due to size restrictions for clinic visits, one support person is allowed to accompany the milk making parent.

  • Sunayana, Jessica, Amie, and their students will continue common industry hygiene standards such as:

    • Washing hands at the start of the visit.

    • Using hand sanitizer throughout the visit.

    • Using latex-free nitrile gloves when touching parent and baby.

    • All equipment will be sanitized and disinfected after the visit.

Protecting your baby’s health is our priority:

  • In the event that your lactation consultant is sick, you will see another team member for the scheduled visit whenever possible. We strive to see all families in a timely manner, and will update you with changes ASAP.

  • If you prefer to see the IBCLC you were originally scheduled with, it is important to understand that you may have to wait until that IBCLC is healthy enough to see you. This may also mean waiting for their next available opening.

If It’s More Than Milk or the clients are experiencing any symptoms or diagnosis of a communicable illness, the visit may be moved to another IMTM IBCLC, it may be rescheduled, or it may be moved to a telemedicine format. This includes fever, gastrointestinal upset, persistent cough, and other maladies.
