Home Visit Changes

An Important Update About Home Visits

We believe families deserve access to thoughtful, personalized lactation care, and we want to continue providing that care in a way that is sustainable for our practice.

Due to changes in insurance requirements, a significant drop in The Lactation Network (TLN) reimbursement rates, the elimination of charging a travel fee, and the rising costs of operating a healthcare practice, home visits for clients using TLN-participating insurances are now available on a self-pay basis only. This applies to visits after September 13, 2026.

This means that home visits will no longer be billed through TLN, and payment will be due directly from the client. Following the visit, families will be provided with a lactation super bill for them to submit to their insurance provider. We do not submit any claims on your behalf.

We understand that this is a significant change, especially when receiving care in the comfort of your own home can make such a difference during the postpartum period. We know that navigating insurance and healthcare costs can be frustrating, and we are committed to making this transition as clear and straightforward as possible.

Office-based appointments through TLN remain available. If you prefer a home visit, we are happy to discuss our self-pay options and help you find the best fit for your needs.

Our commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, individualized care has not changed. We are grateful for your trust and for allowing us to be part of your feeding journey.
