Private Pay Rates for Lactation Consultations
It's More Than Milk offers a variety of lactation services. Our goal is to empower families experiencing lactation difficulty with knowledge, compassion, and support.
The following prices are for self pay services only. Clients will be provided with an itemized super bill to file a claim. Insurance coverage can vary greatly from plan to plan. It is the responsibility of the client to be informed about their specific plan covers. Payment is expected at the time of the visit by cash, check, or credit card.
We believe that every family should be able to get the lactation support they need. If you are experiencing true financial difficulty, sliding scale rates are available and payment arrangements can be made prior to the visit. This includes bartering for products or services that are equivalent in value.
Initial Postpartum Lactation Consultation
A postpartum visit for new clients whose concerns include:
Painful latch
Milk supply
Preterm/late preterm baby
Infant weight gain
Breast refusal
Bottle refusal
Lactation check up
Visit includes follow up by phone, text, or email for two weeks after our visit. If additional in-person support is needed, or it’s been more than two weeks since our visit, a follow up consultation will be recommended. Your visit notes will be available and sent to your baby's provider in 24 hours.
For families with multiples, please contact us for pricing. Home visits are limited and reserved for infants under 4 weeks.

Follow Up Postpartum Consultation
For established clients only
A visit for established clients to address or continue working on:

Cuddle and Flow: Prenatal Lactation Prep
Expecting a new baby? This visit is for a family preparing to breastfeed, and is a 1:1 prenatal visit. A partner or other family member is encouraged to attend. Topics covered include:
What to expect in the first few days following birth
Understanding baby’s hunger cues
Common concerns
Previous lactation experiences
Pumping and bottle feeding

Virtual: $200
Inducing Lactation/Re-lactation
This appointment type is for families looking to induce lactation in a non-birthing parent, or to restart the process of breastfeeding after a gap. It is used in situations of adoption, using a gestational carrier, and being the non-birthing parent.
Self pay:
In-office: $150
Virtual Lactation Consultation
An online lactation consultation is up to 60 minutes long. Additional time is measured in 30-minute increments. If in-person support is needed, an additional follow up consultation will be recommended. Your visit notes will be available and sent to your baby's provider in 24 hours.
A virtual visit can include:
Guidance with lactation, pumping, and returning to work/school
Questions for the IBCLC
A check in between visits
Special circumstances, such as weaning, inducing lactation, and lactation after infant loss
Concerns with an older breastfed infant, such as transition to solid food and nursing strikes
